AlgometRx: Providing a Mechanistic Approach to the Objective Measurement of Pain and Analgesic Drug Effect
Julia C. Finkel, MD, Founder, AlgometRx, Inc., based in Florham Park, NJ
Dr. Julia Finkel is a pediatric anesthesiologist and Director of Pain Medicine R&D at the Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation at Children's National Hospital in Washington, D.C. and Professor of Anesthesiology, Pediatrics and Critical Care Medicine at George Washington University.
Dr. Finkel studies analgesic pharmacology in infants and children and develops pharmacodynamic assessment tools and methodologies both in the laboratory and for pediatric clinical applications. Dr. Finkel and her team developed a platform technology to objectively measure pain and analgesic drug effect. In 2015, she founded AlgometRx, Inc. to commercialize the technology.
On June 4th, Dr. Finkel introduced us to AlgometRx, a mobile health medical device startup. The AlgometRx device is a handheld platform technology that implements proprietary algorithms to provide healthcare practitioners the toolbox to optimize pain assessment and treatment.

Triaj, Inc. - A New Digital Healthcare and MedTech Innovation
Martin R. Eichelberger, MD, FACS, FAAP, Founder, President and CEO, Triaj, Inc., based in Annapolis, MD
Medical errors are the third leading cause of death in the United States (Johns Hopkins).
Significant disparity exists in the quality of care provided by healthcare professionals, due to lack of access to “just-in-time,” evidence-based protocols, to a knowledge gap of current practice and to the rapid change in new methods of care. This is especially critical at the early stage of patients with illness or injury, when timely decisions impact life-or-death outcomes. Lack of effective, best-practice protocols throughout the patient care process engenders low quality care outcome, escalates the cost of treatment and fragments the health care system which must absorb new technology, medications and techniques.
Triaj is revolutionizing the diagnosis, treatment, and care of patients through an advanced clinical decision support system for healthcare professionals, which provides best practice, patient treatment which is available anywhere, anytime as a cloud-based, communications network solution.
