Global Sustainability
The Cavendish community believes that technological innovations and new financing methods are making global sustainability more accessible than ever before. As more devices connect to the Internet – everything from trains to air conditioning units – we are also witnessing the the potential for the Internet of Things (IoT) to drive efficiencies, increase productivity and promote economic growth. In particular, the IoT is fueling innovation and creating opportunities in the development of clean technology, and helping redefine what a sustainable world will look like.
As a result of these innovations combined with new financing sources solar, wind, hydropower and other sustainable energy sources are expected to account for half of our global energy mix by 2030, according to estimates from Bloomberg New Energy Finance. This transformation will allow the United States and countries around the world to meet growing power needs more sustainably—helping to create a cleaner, healthier and brighter future.
The Cavendish community believes innovation and the well-conceived deployment of capital has the potential to accelerate the availability and impact of sustainable energy. The Cavendish community seeks to help accomplish this by:
- Convening sustainable energy thought leaders to promote information sharing, idea exchange and critical opinion development
- Identifying sustainable energy innovation and impact opportunities in promising leaders, technologies and innovative businesses
- Championing and sharing knowledge and relational assets of the community to accelerate impact and innovation within sustainable energy
